CFA Level III Passed
For the past two and a half years I have been in the process of studying for and taking the CFA certification exams. The CFA designation requires candidates to pass three comprehensive exams testing a variety of subjects including accounting and financial statement analysis, economics, asset valuation, portfolio management, and the use of derivatives.
I am pleased to announce that in mid August I found out that I had passed the Level III exam, the final exam required for the CFA designation. Pending approval of my work experience (the CFA institute requires at least 48 months of qualified professional experience), I should be awarded my CFA Charter this fall.
The exam process is very difficult and requires For the June exam, only 40% of the (very smart) people who took the first level exam passed, only 40% of the people taking Level II passed, and only 50% of the people who took Level III (meaning approximately the top 8% of the people who began the process two to three years ago) passed.
Congratulations to everyone else who passed.
